About

A Bit About Me....

My name is Cindy Henneke and live in beautiful, central Texas.  I've been sewing for about 40 years.  I sewed nearly everything I wore for years and loved everything about the process of creating something from a flat piece of fabric to a garment that no one else owned!  Then I discovered quilting and was hooked.  I started as a traditional quilter, then moved to art quilting and experimented with different fiber arts.   Creating show quilts and getting published in a book was hugely satisfying.  Then I found creating love quilts for ill and hurting people and valor quilts for wounded veterans fed my soul and realized what a privilege it is to bring so much comfort and warmth to someone.  As l continue to make these service quilts, I have also found bag and purse making to fill the need for functional and beautiful items to carry.  I was asked several times if I sold my bags so Tin Star Creations was born out of this evolving process.

I enjoy creating these one of a kind bags from different fabrics, cork, leather and canvas.   These are high quality, completely made by me from cutting and prep to the stitching of the bags.  They are made with love, care and the hope that they will bring a smile to the person that owns each one.  Because they are made individually by me and requiring several machines, it takes many hours to handcraft each one.

The Patterns I Use

I source patterns from several talented designers such as Swoon Patterns, Blue Calla, ChrisW Designs, Bagstock, Gypsy Boho and Sew Da Kine.  All have given specific permission to sell bags created from their patterns in limited quantities.  Credit to the pattern designer has also been listed in the description of each item for sale.
